Chess Club in Vientiane
« on: May 18, 2010, 06:12:15 PM »
Sabaidee  :)

Planning to open a chess club in Vientiane in august. Have already 10 chess sets, a few clocks and a location for the club in the center of the town.

If anyone would like to participate in this project, you are warmly welcome. The chess club may open one or two times per week at the beginning and maybe more often if some volunteers want to join. (email me if you are interest)

We will welcome whoever want to play or learn to play the king of game. From 5 to 125 y.o.

More info to follow.

Hello!
I won't be around in august, but I'll definitely come to the chess tournament!
I don't have a chess set unfortunately, do you know where it is possible to buy one?

Great idea Olivier - I'm with you.

Tournament is sort of a try-out to bring together people who like chess. First edition is at my place at ThaDeua km6 (near the roundabout) this Sunday. For more precise directions please send me an email (address in the flyer in earlier post).

If Olivier can bring some of his chess sets there's no need to bring anything yourself. Don't bother looking for quality sets in Laos, just buy the first non-artistic set you can find at Talat Sao or the Chinese shops around Chao Anou.

Greetings,
Gabriel

@Gabriel: Thanks for your support   :D
@Jeff: No need to buy, I ll bring some of my 10 (!) chess sets so we may have enough material.
