Kennel Club of Laos
« on: June 11, 2010, 01:56:32 PM »
Anyone interested in starting / joining a Kennel Club?  I am thinking of a basic registry service and hosting canine events (probably just a few times a year).  But less formally find a dog park so that dogs have somewhere to run around.

Hi... I'm interested in joining if you set one up but don't really know what you'd require.  Let me know if you get enough people to set it up.

I don't live in VTE and visit there every 2 months or so but a park for dogs would really be GREAT!!!  I have a golden retriever who just loves to run and play in open spaces.

Park for dog sounds great.  I realized that Vientiane is not a dog friendly space -- not talking about the people but the land usage.  Nowhere for dogs to go.  I can put my dog on a leash and go for a walk but there's a hundred other dogs that freely roam the streets.

If anyone is interested....dog park, socializing dogs, I'm sure there are those who train dogs...just a club where owners can come up ideas and implement them for dogs.  There are places in other countries where there's a dog exercise course complete with different tubes and planks, etc for fun and exercise.

Also, we can include dog registry for those who have pure bred dogs.

Hi, I posted a reply to you by email.  The idea would be to get a reasonable group of people together to get something going and then register as a Kennel Club and maybe have an identified location (that is fenced of course) to let the dogs socialize and freely roam.

For example, my puppy is registered in Thailand as there is no Kennel Club in Laos nor reputable breeders.  I've attached an article from a Spanish newspaper with his photo for your reference.

I'd love that he have an open area to run around and play with other dogs of the same breed.  Maybe competitions and a dog registry will follow once there is an identified market and enough demand for the dog park, club etc.
